It’s like an asteroid is hurdling towards earth and there’s nothing we can do about it. Walter’s birthday is this week and he has a party with his BM to celebrate that counts as a visit. He’s asked that it just be her and his sibling but she want’s to bring the whole family. I’m very nervous she won’t honor his wish and we are going to show up to a mob scene. I’m not sure how he is going to react and we are very nervous about the post visit fall out that happens every time. The trump card up our sleeve is we are taking him to Disneyland on his B-Day. He will find that out when he opens his gifts a day early because we won’t have time to do it the next day because HE IS GOING TO DISNEYLAND! The first week we moved in we asked him what he wanted to do for his B-Day. He said, “You’ll say no.” We goaded him a little and he said, “I want to go to Disneyland.” We’ll we got blessed by an old friend with free tickets. I say blessed because the “Disney” money turned into “clutch” money for our car. Lucky.
Dudette and Walter have improved relations overall. I think the Dudette needs to take it easy once in awhile and accept that she cannot make a point the way she wants too. It’s like driving a nail, but with a kid you can’t do it all at once. You got hit the nail once or twice and come back to it. Eventually it’ll be flush. She’s still doing great and we are all learning how to be a family. Not much longer now (hopefully) and we can adjust to some honest to goodness permanency.
